Irish Heavyweights Nautilus Release Long Awaited Album ‘The Wrath Of The Sea’

Its being a long time coming, but Nautilus have finally released their long awaited album ‘The Wrath Of The Sea’. The album itself was recorded at the end of 2015 and was scheduled for release in mid 2016.

The band were at the time in full flight and getting ready to take things up a notch with this release, then it was announced that Cloaky and Conor were both leaving the band and the country! Initially they were looking for a new drummer/guitarist but after that all went quiet.

Since then, Cathal is now a member of Aeternum  Vale and Alan is Bass player with zhOra. They announced last month via the Nautilus facebook page that the album was set for release on September 29th to great delight!

After listening to the album, I’m firmly reminded as to why I absolutely loved this band! They were in my opinion one of the best bands in this country at any period in time…

It’s an absolute work of art and a shame in hindsight things didn’t go according to plan. Things can change in life though as I know all too well myself personally!

The album is now finally among us and available to stream in full at a link I shall post below. We’ll include their song ‘Curse The Sea’ here a direct link, and if you like the sound of that? Get onto the album. You’ll love it!

This is without doubt among my favourite albums released this year! I knew the lads had something in the tank back then, but this is beyond my expectations! Its an incredible body of work and an instant classic in my humble opinion.

With the band now set to come back out of hibernation with two new members onboard. We shall be reminded yet again of how good this band are!

Nautilus are back!!

Meat Train Release Their Second Album ‘Random Acts Of Carnage’ Via Contagion Records

“…death metal that will make you feel sick to your stomach…”

The Meat Train rolls on through the darkness, bringing its carnival of grotesque horrors and bloodlust to town after town after town…

Originally formed in 2011 by the duo of guitarists, Mike Pearson and Chas Fenoughty, Meat Train took their name from the Clive Barker short story, The Midnight Meat Train and their inspiration from the tale’s bizarre, dark brutality. As soon as their line-up was complete Meat Train took their festering, filthy death metal to the stage. The experienced musicians, who collectively boast past experience with Winter Of Torment, Thus Defiled and an array of other UK underground talent, lock together to form an intimidating war machine in the live arena. Right from the start it was obvious that the Meat Train was too powerful a proposition to be trapped on the usual circuit of pubs and clubs and very quickly the offers began to flood in from the furthest corners of the globe…

With just one album under their belts Meat Train found themselves flying out to destinations as far afield as Thailand, The Philippines and Vietnam – blazing a bloody trail into territories most bands can only imagine playing. They even headlined the prestigious Nepal Deathfest in Kathmandu, decimating the audience with a performance no attendee will ever forget.

The band have just released their second album ‘Random Acts Of Carnage’, a record constructed from a set of songs that completely eclipse all their previous endeavours. At the same time Meat Train are honing their image and stage presentation, making sure that any future live encounters with these blood thirsty beasts will be even more unforgettable, with a sense of danger you can almost taste. When the Meat Train rolls into town, you better be ready…

The first thing I really noticed about this band is the fact you can’t compare them to anyone. They have their own sound and vibe that I can imagine will translate very well in a live setting.

The band recently release a new music video ‘Block 11’ which we have included here. Any video that begins with the quote; “Those Who Cannot Remember The Past Are Condemned To Repeat It” is always a great introduction…

They also have a track on the album called ‘Redneck Zombies’ which has redneck style Banjo playing at the start and random intervals throughout. Which I absolutely loved!

I could write a lot about this album here, but it has to be heard to be believed! Which I strongly suggest fans of Death, Grindcore, Gore metal do at their earliest interval.

Easily one of my favourite albums released this year! It won’t be for everyone, but those who ‘get it’ are going to love this album!

Austrian Black Metal Band ‘Irdorath’ Release New Video ‘In The Name Of Decay’

Irdorath have recently released their new video for their track ‘In The Name Of Decay’. We just found this band today and are very impressed! We shall include their bio below and the video itself.

The history of the thrash/blackmetal band IRDORATH starts in 2005. Markus (guitar) and three other musicians founded the band, the first demo “Erwachen” and the first album “Götterdämmerung” (Label Black Lava Records) were recorded and the first gigs were played. During the following years some personal changes happened. From this time on Thomas plays the drums and Esche performs on the rhythmguitar.

The second album “Dekonstrukteur des Fleisches” was recorded at Soundtempel Studio and produced by Stefan Traunmüller. After finishing the record the singer and the bassplayer left the band, so that there was place for Markus to take over the vocal parts and Mario to join as the new bass player. With this lineup the band proved their power successfully on stage only one a few weeks later. Furthermore, the german record label Massacre Records became interested and signed the band. The Album “Dekonstrukteur des Fleisches” was released worldwide through Massacre Records in January 2012 and Irdorath were playing lots of concerts that year.

Apart from performing live, Irdorath had lots of ideas for new songs. A new set was born and Thomas started to record the drums at Stage One Studio in Germany November 2012. After that was finished, the recording of the guitars, bass guitar and the vocals took place once more at the Soundtempel Studio. The new record, which is called „I Am Risen“, was finally mixed and mastered by Andy Classen at the Stage One Studio. “I Am Risen” was released in October 2013 through the Austrian Music Label Noisehead Records.

Lots of concerts and festivals have been played in Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Croatia and Switzerland to promote this record and the feedback from the fans and the music press was overwhelming.

In 2015 Esche left the band. To celebrate the band’s 10 year anniversary Irdorath played some special shows with Christoph (Groteskh, Sakrileg), who joined the band on rhythm guitar. The band also started to work on the new record. In August 2016 Thomas entered the Soundtempel Studio to record the drums. A few weeks later Markus did the guitar recording there. Bass guitar and vocals have been recorded at Sound Delusion Studios in September. The mixing and mastering was done at Hertz Studio in Poland. Finally Irdorath found a new full time member to play the rhythmguitar. The lineup is complete again – Markus (guitar/vocals), Thomas (drums), Mario (bass guitar) and Craig on guitar. The new record will be released in autumn 2017 and Irdorath is prepared for the release shows!

We are very impressed by this band! A top class Black metal band!

Death Metal Legends EXHUMED Release New Music Video For “Night Work”

Gore metal maniacs EXHUMED have shared the official music video for “Night Work” off the impending, new full-length album Death Revenge.

Frontman Matt Harvey comments: “We are extremely stoked to present this cinematic clip that brings you deep into the world of the Death Revenge storyline. Director Jeff Sisson really outdid himself capturing the vibe and violence of the record and the concept. This is the first video we’ve done that really fulfills the horror-movie vision we’ve always wanted to capture with our music. Spoiler Alert: It’s a tale of grave-robbery, murder and madness. So sit back, turn off the lights, lock your doors, and get ready to undertake some ‘Night Work’ with us.”

Death Revenge is set for release on October 13th on CD, LP, deluxe LP with cassette, and digital formats via Relapse Records. Physical packages and digital order are available via HERE and Bandcamp HERE.

EXHUMED‘s sixth full-length sees them tread into ambitious new territory with their first concept album: a musical melodrama in thirteen parts based on shocking true events. Death Revenge takes place in the late 1820s in Edinburgh, Scotland and tells the macabre tale of a series of brutal murders where the victims’ cadavers were sold to anatomists, amid a grisly underground trade of grave-robbery. Recorded with producer Jarrett Pritchard (Goatwhore, Eternal, Gruesome), Death Revenge takes the band’s signature gore-drenched, death metal mayhem to theatrical and ghastly new depths.

Introducing: Peasant To A King. Hardcore/Metal From Athlone

The midlands used to be a real breeding ground for Metal/Heavy music bands and musicians. Over the years, we’ve had local lads going on to play in bands such as ‘Only Fumes And Corpses’, ‘Bacchus’, ‘Putrefaction’, ‘Deadly Circus Fire’, ‘Abaddon Incarnate’ as a few examples. There’s many more….

As far as I know, these lads are the only metal band now in this region. A complete lack of places to play is a massive factor also. Outside what the Amp Promotions lads in Mullingar put on in the past, there’s only been four metal events in Athlone/Roscommon in the last twenty years and I put them all on myself. I’m also 38 years old…

Peasant To A King are hopefully going to help change all that though. If they were to get a venue onboard as a local band, then maybe something could start happening again…

For now, the lads have just recently dropped their debut release  ‘Requiem’, and I’m very impressed! The signs are clear this band have a lot of potential. It’s excellent by all regards as a debut release and a band I’ll be keeping an eye on as they progress. I shall also recommend them to promoters around the country when they’re ready…

One to watch!
