IRON MONKEY Shares New Video For “Toadcrucifier – R.I.P.PER;” 9-13 Out Now On Relapse Records

Cult UK doom/sludge outfit IRON MONKEY is pleased to unveil the official video for “Toadcrucifier – R.I.P.PER.” The track comes by way of the band’s recently-issued 9-13 full-length out now on Relapse Records.

Issues IRON MONKEY‘s J. Rushby, King Of Sludge. “Hello Vomit… Welcome to the exploding black nitro-filth of the ‘Toadcrucifier – R.I.P.PER’ video. Enjoy the maximum speed doom attack ov raw meat rorschaaaax and eyedeath. Hail Moreland Street!”

Adds No Echo of “Toadcrucifier – R.I.P.PER,” “Rushby’s diseased-sounding vocals are not far removed from Morrow’s… If anything, Rushby might sound even more deranged than his late bandmate. On ‘Toadcrucifier – R.I.P.PER,’ he’s at his nastiest, delivering the lyrics like a homicidal maniac who just escaped an English mental institution.”

9-13 is available on CD, LP, and digital formats via Relapse Records. Physical packages and digital orders are available via HERE and all retail outlets HERE.

After disbanding in 1999, IRON MONKEY has reformed for phase two of their mission. Recorded in their hometown of Nottingham in spring 2017 A.D. with producer Johnny A. Carter, 9-13 is nine songs and forty-eight minutes of total nihilism. Now older, more cynical, and more isolationist, IRON MONKEY are back to usurp the scene, then crush it’s skull. Without question, their most focused, aggressive and direct material to date, 9-13 is an all-out assault of violent hatred and nightmarish negativity. Recommended listening for fans of pain, suffering, and misanthropy.

IRON MONKEY was beaten to life in the year of your Lord, one thousand nine hundred and ninety-four, at the location of Nottingham, England. The original members were named: J.P.. Morrow, J. Rushby, S. Watson, D. Dalziel, and J. Greaves. Influences were primarily Eyehategod, Buzzov*en, Floor, Grief, and various hardcore punks and heavy metals.

IRON MONKEY shit out six disgusting tracks of raw sludge-core that were released on the Union Mill label then later on Earache Records. During this period, S. Watson was thrown out and replaced by God’s lonely man, Dean Berry. Nineteen ninety-eight saw the release of the album Our Problem, also on Earache Records, a masterpiece of negative rock that instigated peace on earth and goodwill to all men. This was succeeded by a split release on Man’s Ruin Records with Church Of Misery from Japan. J. Rushby soon abdicated and the band found a replacement in the manner of S. O’hara of Acrimony. IRON MONKEY was destroyed sometime in nineteen ninety-nine. Vocal terror J. P. Morrow died of a heart attack in June of two thousand and two. Rest in noise.

The band reformed for no reason in the winter of two thousand sixteen with original members J. Rushby and S. Watson, with the addition of current Chaos UK drummer Brigga, forming the shape of an inverted black triangle of vitriol and phase two of operations. IRON MONKEY do not care about your scene, bands, or opinions… ELECTROCUTION, DOOM, OMEGA OMEGA OMEGA. – J. Rushby, Two Thousand Seventeen

Hedfuzy Release New Track ‘The Lost Star’

Hedfuzy Release New Track ‘The Lost Star’

Hedfuzy are a progressive rock/metal project all done by one man. Mr Pat Byrne. Drums are provided by Keith McCoy, and Pat does everything else including vocals.

His self titled album released in 2016 was critically acclaimed and gained a big following. A few gigs namely Siege Of Limerick with friends Graham Keane, Keith McCoy among others were then events as this is basically a one man project. Making live shows a rarity is always going to make any gig special…

Easily one of the top Prog acts in this country. Their music mightn’t be heavy enough for some of our followers, but those who like prog will really appreciate this track.

Check it out here and head over to their Facebook page where all links can be found. We shall also link his YouTube channel to check out more of the mans excellent music!

Murdock: Hardcore/Metal/Punk/Noise

Murdock: Hardcore/Metal/Punk/Noise

Murdock are a NOISE MACHINE
A three piece technical hardcore noise band that destroy all pre-conceived genre rules by smashing them into the ground. Murdock interblend ferocious metal, rock and roll, noise, jazz and punk with off-kilter, intense jarring time signatures and deliver it with an honest, sincere and inexhaustible passion.

Murdock have built up a very strong following and an outstanding live reputation from their intense, reckless and destructive live show. They play past the limit of their abilities with a disregard for their own well being and the comfort levels of their audiences. “If you are not bleeding or exhausted, what is the point?”

Murdock’s released the much anticipated album ‘DEAD LUNG’ on Basick Records in April 2105

Disrated: Brutal Tech Death Metal from Sweden

Disrated: Brutal Tech Death Metal from Sweden

Disrated were founded in 2016 by guitarist johan Widegren & drummer Fredrik Romlin.  Kamal Söder then joined on bass, followed by Ken Romlin on vocals.

The band have released two EP’s as of now. A two track EP ‘Almighty Father’ released in May this year followed by their recently released four track EP ‘And Hell Follows With Me’.

We have the full EP here to stream so you can check them out yourselves and form your own opinion. I was impressed by this band and very surprised they aren’t better known. They’re virtually unknown for some reason and I don’t know why!

The EP contains four tracks as I previously mentioned. It kicks off with ‘Dead and Loving It’ which has a haunting start and really kicks up a gear. A great opener.

The EP’s title track ‘And Hell Follows With Me’ is next and my personal favourite track on this EP. ‘Iris’ is the EP’s penultimate track and another solid track that follows the albums formula.

The EP’s final track ‘The Passage’ caught me out a bit. It’s a pure instrumental track that reminds me of what ‘At The Gates’ used to do on earlier releases. It’s a great track, but an odd choice to conclude this EP. I enjoyed it personally, but a track like this in any classic Swedish release was always around the mid point.

Saying that, I found enjoyment in this EP and will return to it again as there’s so many layers to their music I’ll discover something else next time.

One to watch for sure and a band that should be a hell of a lot better known than they currently are!
