BAILER stream new single ‘Feel It More’ Self Titled EP ‘BAILER’ out 9th February 2018 via Distroy Records

Metal/hardcore quartet BAILER are streaming their new single ‘Feel It More’, the second track to be taken from their self-titled EP – due for release on 9th February via Distro-y Records. Following on from 2017’s PTSD and 2016’s Shaped By The Landscape, BAILER is an ambitious collection of tracks that showcase a band who have truly discovered their sound.

“We all get caught up in the heat of the moment sometimes, and it makes it hard for us to stand back and take it all in,” the band comment of the track. “We wrote this song at a time where it was really easy for us to see everything for what it was and really feel it. Those moments can be rare these days.”

Returning to work with Murdock’s Aidan Cunningham, BAILER is relentless from the get-go as the merciless ‘Lying For A Living’ brings the listener up to speed in a riotous fashion, while the likes of ‘Tuesday Blues’ and ‘Death Is A Reminder’ take a filthier route, reminiscent of Cancer Bats. Since forming in 2015 BAILER have pricked the ears of many other musicians, with some familiar faces lending their vocals to this latest EP. Adam Carroll formerly of Zoax, Xander Coughlan of Emigra and Kevin ‘Lefty’ Letford of Red Enemy all feature, adding their own slice of character to the record.

With a small discography the four-piece have impressively garnered attention from Metal Hammer, Kerrang! Radio presenter Alex Baker, Metal Injection and Heavy Blog Is Heavy, an achievement that is no mean feat for a band so early into their career. BAILER have spent their short time as a band building up a strong reputation in their home ground, having played shows alongside Norma Jean, Sick Of It All, Employed To Serve, HECK, Murdock, Shields, Red Enemy and more.

Slayer Announce Farewell Tour

Slayer Announce Farewell Tour

Slayer have announced they are to play a farewell tour. The band released this very brief statement.

“The End is Near…Slayer to tour the world one more time…”

I knew this day was coming. Slayer headlined Bloodstock 2016 and when the band were onstage Tom said ‘Please forgive me for what I am about to do. I’m sorry…’ and walked off stage almost in tears. I’m surprised it wasn’t really mentioned anywhere at the time, but many were probably a bit partied out by that stage…

Tom can barely move on stage now after years of touring. Neck/back surgeries. I can imagine it wasn’t getting any easier!

This day was always coming due to multiple things Tom also said in 2016 such as  ‘After 35 years, it’s time to like, collect my pension’. He still loved it however so obviously a tough final decision to make also saying,  “I like singing and just spitting that s—t out and convincing everybody that this guy is a f—ing maniac. It’s like acting. You feel the lyrics and you show them with your facial expressions, your body expressions, your intensity — I love that s—t.”

Tour details will be announced in due course and after seeing them 10+ times live. They never once disappointed me!!

I think this is a fitting song to add to this sad, but also inevitable news…

The ABSENCE Unveil Music Video For Title Track From New Album ‘A GIFT FOR THE OBSESSED’ Due March 23rd Via M-Theory Audio

January 19, 2018 – Los Angeles, CA – The Tampa-based melodic death metal band THE ABSENCE will release “A Gift for The Obsessed,” their first album in eight years, through M-Theory Audio on March 23

Says vocalist Jamie Stewart, “‘A Gift for the Obsessed’ embodies many of the dynamics that THE ABSENCE stand for as a whole: melody, brutality, speed, dexterity, cadence, etc. — a truly comprehensive and cohesive listening experience indeed! The title of the album/song refers to that very moment when any artist or creator makes something to the integral point of satisfaction — when your craft meets your obsession in furious culmination, and you are finally able to take a step back, if only for just a moment, completely fulfilled by the fruits of your artistic labor. It‘s one of the most maddening yet needed satisfactions in life — exorcism through creation.”

“A Gift for The Obsessed” is THE ABSENCE’s first full-length since 2010’s acclaimed “Enemy Unbound” (Metal Blade Records), and is the first to feature their current lineup. Led by founding members Stewart and Jeramie Kling (drums) along with longtime bass player Mike Leon (Soulfly, Havok, Arsis), the group now features the high-flying guitar work of Joey Concepcion (Jasta, Armageddon) and Taylor Nordberg (Soilwork, Ribspreader), who made their debut on the band’s self-released digital single, “Septic Testament,” in 2016.

“Septic Testament” is one of 10 tracks on the band’s new album, the LP edition of which will feature red/black haze colored vinyl, a heavyweight 24-pt. jacket, a color lyric sheet and a download card. The record also includes a cover of Suicidal Tendencies’ “You Can’t Bring Me Down” that features guest vocals by Bjorn “Speed” Strid (Soilwork, The Night Flight Orchestra). Pre-orders are available at this location www.m-theoryaudio.com/store

“A Gift for The Obsessed” was mixed by David Castillo at Sweden’s Ghost Ward Studio (Katatonia, Opeth) and mastered by Thomas “Plec” Johansson at The Panic Room (Watain, Scar Symmetry), while the cover was created by Russian artist Stray Child.

On the new album and the making of the music video, Leon said, “The album turned out even more killer than we could have expected. The video shoot for ‘A Gift For The Obsessed’ was a blast as well. We shot it at Bay Stage Live here in Tampa, where Taylor and I work, with Jeramie’s wife Deidra Kling handling most of the camera duties, and we had Tommy Jones (Slayer, Death Angel) supply his editing wizardry!”  In addition to signing to M-Theory Audio, THE ABSENCE have teamed up with Jonny and Marsha Zazula’s CraZed Management. Tour dates will be announced soon.

THE ABSENCE came onto the scene in 2005 with their crushing, Erik Rutan-produced Metal Blade debut, “From Your Grave.” The album and its two follow-ups, 2007’s “Riders of the Plague” and 2010’s “Enemy Unbound,” showcased the perfect mixture of heart-wrenching melodies and skull-pounding aggression, truly making them one of the premiere bands of the melodic death metal scene. THE ABSENCE further ensconced their reputation via numerous tours supporting some of the biggest names in metal, including Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder, Amon Amarth, Sabaton, Goatwhore, Evergrey, Malevolent Creation, Kataklysm and Destruction.

The song has an arena rock feel but with a pop punk soul, telling the positive story of how one person can help change someone’s life around, even when they are at their lowest.

“I’m super excited about this tour! GET HAPPY is 11 years old! That’s just crazy! And I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than bringing it back, with Army of Freshmen from the original lineup and adding The Aquabats! on to make it even happier! Now I need to get back to relearning all of the Drunk Enough To Dance songs!!!”

Dublin Based ‘Rouen’ Release Debut Single ‘Breed’

Based in Dublin, Rouen are a five piece band who utilise the best elements of Metalcore, Hardcore and Punk to create a sound that includes heavy riffing, hardcore vocal delivery and bouncing grooves.

When we were sent on their track and promo pack I was very surprised at first. How did this band go under my radar? It would turn out the lads were building everything behind the scenes before even creating a Facebook page. Which has to be admired! Most start a page and when the music drops they are forgotten by most. Not these lads though! They got it right!

If this their debut single is anything to go by, these lads could be a real force very soon! This is a track you expect bands together years to produce and definitely not their first single!  When I saw the mail  I thought ‘Right, lets see how I can swing this into something positive…’ I was certainly not expecting this!

The energy throughout this track is infectious and I can image it will go down really well in a live environment. There’s a great dynamic throughout,  moving up and down the gears effortlessly!  Full of hooks, riffs, great use of duel vocalists  all while also creating a sense of atmosphere.

I can’t say enough good things about this track really. I’m more than a little interested to see what this band produce next. The bar has been set so high here James Cameroon is nowhere in sight!

I’ll be keeping a firm eye on these lads as they develop. They claim to be the best aspects of their influences, while a bold claim especially from a band releasing their debut single. These lads back up their words!

One to watch!!
