SUPERSTITION: New Mexican Death Metal Act’s Debut LP ‘Surging Throng Of Evil’s Might’ Out Now Stream In Full Within

Surging Throng Of Evil’s Might, the debut MLP from New Mexico death metal act, SUPERSTITION, is out today through 20 Buck Spin.

Despite the explosive re-emergence of death metal during the last decade or more, few bands in the United States, have sought to carry on the faithful legacy of early evil in American death metal in a manner that wasn’t a pale forgery. To that end, SUPERSTITION manifests from the ancient landscape of New Mexico with their debut Surging Throng Of Evil’s Might, heralding the return of perdition’s flame.

Unpolished malevolence dripping with vile iniquity, occult forces, and eerie demonic sentience is draped across the auditory essence of SUPERSTITION‘s debut, from the hellish introduction of “Death’s Fuming Passage” to the closing keys of “Grave Portals.” The very primordial elements of the abyssic fire are summoned in SUPERSTITION‘s ancient invocation. Fans of Necrovore, Incubus, Morbid Angel, Mortuary Drape, Nocturnus, Sadistic Intent, Mortem, Possessed, and Order From Chaos should seek out Surging Throng Of Evil’s Might.

Video Premiere: Serpents Eve – XVII New Devils

A summary of Serpents Eve so far…..

Serpents Eve released their sophomore collection of instrumental Doom Metal in the winter of 2017. Again, Marty Robinson, Northern Irish guitarist/songwriter, wrote and performed all the music on the recording.

Following on from the acclaimed “The Slow Knife” EP in 2015, “MMXVII“ is the natural progression, with everything bigger, better and heavier.

Serpents Eve follows the path carved by Doom gods such as Cathedral, Sleep and My Dying Bride intertwining the emotional themes of classic horror, bizarre sci-fi, occult, fantasy and the esoteric.

“XVII New Devils” is the first performance-video from all instrumental, Irish Epic Doom-Metal act Serpents Eve.

Applauded for the “great fuzzy slices of instrumental doom” and “the wonderful epic motifs of doom’s heritage”, Serpents Eve’s releases (2015’s “The Slow Knife” and 2017’s “MMXVII”) hail the masters of epic doom metal alongside strong underground and DIY ethics.

All Serpents Eve’s music is written, performed and recorded by Marty Robinson, which provided a challenge to film a performance video as all instruments are played by himself.
Using multiple takes, camera angles and overlays, the video came together to capture the energy and heaviness of the music without dwelling on the solo effort. The aim to let the music convey the power and emotions is emphasised with the camera focusing on the instruments and not the faces.

The video is premiered on Burning Metal Ireland on 12 May 2018 and available on YouTube. Serpents Eve music is available from all digital streaming and download sites.

Killface Release Long Awaited LP ‘Buried Beneath Flesh’

Dublin based death metal heavyweights Killface have released their long awaited album ‘Buried Beneath Flesh’. Like many, I thought they had called it a day on the quiet as they have been very quiet for a long time now. They cleared all up with this statement.

*******Band Update*******

Story folks. It’s been a while. First off we just want to say to anybody worrying or thinking that we‘re done, I assure you that is not the case at all  I’ll try make it as short as I can. Basically we had to put everything on hold the past year and a half nearly, for both good and bad reasons. One being the Zammo lad becoming a father to little Jakeface. He’s had to dedicate most of his time to bringing the young lad up like a champion, along with everything else. Work being another. Them bills don’t pay themselves. Sadly Daryl had to leave the band and another being myself(Derek).

To make it “short” I have crohns 10 years now. When I got it I got it as bad as you could get it, rushed into intensive care, guts chopped out, stapled up and sent home with two bags stuck to my stomach and body reduced to skin and bone. I got through all that and had my stomach returned to where it belongs and a little more meat back on the bones but still, the pain and infection’s never left. Last year I developed sepsis through one of these infection’s. If I was any later getting to hospital I would’ve been brown bread it was that bad. It messed my body and immune system up so badly I’ve literally had to push everything to one side and focus on getting healthy again.

That meaning socializing, jamming, gigging or promoting an album wasn’t going to be a priority for a while. It was so hard to do but it had to be done. Recovery was going well and then winter hit. With my immune system being so low I managed to pick up everything. Thank fuck for painkillers and anti-biotics. It sort of delayed my recovery which was a c#nt. Thankfully things are finally on the up. I’m feeling better every day and looking to jam real soon.

With all that in mind I just wanted let anyone waiting on merch purchased online know that we haven’t forgot about you. We’re behind on a couple of fronts but we’re looking to sort you all out asap. Thank you so so much for your patience. As an apology we have FINALLY uploaded our newest album Buried Beneath Flesh ( Nearly a year and a half later than we had hoped ) for download at’ll worry about promoting it later  Life is too short. Booklet and lyrics will be sorted soon. 50% off for two weeks as a way to say thank you to the all sound fuckers who’ve hit us up. Your patience, well wishes, encouragement and support is always appreciated.

I’ll say one more thing, we have something booked for later in the summer so we’ll be back on stage before you know it and I can’t fucking wait! Hopefully you understand a little better now what craic is. Now get the album into ya  All the best \m/

HAMMERS Release New Single/Video FOR ‘SPEAK OF THE DEVIL’ Ahead Of EP Release In June

Northern Rivers/South East QLD band Hammers have announced that their debut EP ‘Homeblokes’ will be released on June 22nd, and to celebrate they are unleashing a new single and video on Tuesday May 8. Pre-Orders go live on Friday May 18th at iTunes and all good stores.

Following on from the release of their single ‘Dead Set’ (which was nominated for video of the year at the 2018 GC Music Awards), the boys are back with the new clip for ‘Speak of the Devil’, once again shot and directed by Colin Jeffs.

The video sees the band pitted against the lord of darkness himself, as he seems hell-bent on ruining their day. The new record Homeblokes, which was mixed and mastered by Forrester Savell (Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus, Cog), is the first release of music from the band since establishing a new lineup in 2017.

Taking influences from a diverse range of styles – Stoner Rock, Metal, Blues, and blended with the anecdotal lyrical style of country, then spat in your face with the attitude of punk, Hammers are a band not easily pigeonholed into one genre.

Hammers are launching the single ‘Speak of the Devil’ on Sat May 12 @ The Bearded Lady, West End, Brisbane w/ Captives (Melb), The Quarters (Melb) and Tai Sui.

Hammers perform at Dead of Winter Festival, Sat July 7th, Jubilee Hotel and The Tivoli.
Homeblokes pre-orders go live on May 18th, released June 22nd on Summerland Records
