Oracle Release Live At Bloodstock EP

Imperative PR are proud to bring you a very special release from Belfast metallers Oracle, in the form of brand new EP Live At Bloodstock. The best live releases are those that capture a moment in time; the excitement, the sweat, the volume and adrenaline. They hold forever the sound of a band on fire, giving everything to a receptive audience who give everything back in their turn. Close your eyes and turn up the volume and you could almost be there, reliving a treasured memory or getting as close to sharing the experience as possible. Live At Bloodstock is one of those releases…

On Saturday August 11th 2018 Oracle exploded onto the New Blood stage at the UKs premiere metal festival, Bloodstock Open Air. They owned Bloodstock that day, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts, minds and memories of all who saw them. Vocalist Jason Kerr was a man possessed from the moment he stepped out in front of the Bloodstock crowd and the riffs from Connor McDonald and Jake Dornan just kept coming, a relentless onslaught of irresistible, gritty metal. Behind it all drummer Rhys Fraser and bassist Chief brought the thunder, crushing ribcages and imploding internal organs. And the whole glorious performance was captured on audio and film.

Now, on November 28th Oracle are offering those recordings to everyone, a gift to their fans who shared that day with them and to the fans who will hear this recording and flock to their banner. Live At Bloodstock is available directly from the Oracle Bandcamp page as a free digital download, with exclusive cover art and the professionally shot video footage is streaming on the Oracle Youtubechannel. Download the EP, watch the footage and remember the day that Oracle’s star truly began to rise…

I wanted to capture this moment of the group and preserve that early live intensity in 360 degrees, like you are there with us! I always drive directors insane with my ideas but in the end, Reinout Hellenthal helped me capture the high-powered live experience and bring you on stage with us during the chaos! Oblivion Set To Release Self Titled Album On January 21st

CA based Death Metal Juggernaut Oblivion have returned with their third album the self titled “Oblivion.” This album, a sequel to last year’s release “The Path Towards” expands on Oblivion’s vision of a world run amok by artificial intelligence. Although lyrically the subject matter is a continuation of “The Path Towards” this effort is stylistically different and, if anything, sonically closer to their debut “Called To Rise.”

Following their first two critically acclaimed albums , this third installment aims to build from the momentum of their previous works. Speaking about the direction of this album, Oblivion Founder Ted O’Neill said, “One of the hallmarks of the Oblivion sound has been the blending of many styles of extreme music. Encompassing elements of Black Metal, OSDM, Technical Death Metal as well as Classical music that may be thought of as Modern Chamber Music. Nick Vasallo’s background as a PhD in music theory and his experience as a classical composer gives us a huge boost in creating our material. So, for this album we really wanted Nick to go all the way with it and do what he does best. He is tremendous at creating tension, counter point and brutal arrangements while maintaining a structure that is still accessible. On that same note Ben Orum is a great writer in his own respect. Ben brings to the table the ability to create crushing rhythms and massive chord progressions that create the backbone of many of the songs. Luis “The Human Drum Machine” Martinez is just a unique talent with an eclectic style that blends perfectly with what we do. So, the idea was to really have everyone bring to the table their best skills and blend it all together. I think people are going to love this album. It’s very diverse but doesn’t lose focus. It’s brutally heavy throughout but not fatiguing. It’s dark and in spots bleak but not depressing as it is LOADED with hook after hook and tons of groove.”

Both their debut “Called to Rise” and sophomore release “The Path Towards…” received album of the year consideration citing this eclectic ability as one of the bands great strengths. This release takes that element even deeper into the blending of styles as Oblivion push even further into the extreme.

The album’s opener “True Awakenings” is a blending of the great classic sounds while not losing integrity of the modern style of death metal. Tracks 2 and 3 (Fear What is Unknown, Forgotten Brotherhood) display memorable riffs showcasing the fact that death metal, even when employing technical elements, can still have distinctive style, deep hooks and groove. The album pushes forward with “Witnessing a Glorious Dawn” and “Insurrection” meshing classic OSDM vibes with a decidedly modern approach. The instrumental “Alien Among Us” and the songs “Threshold” and “Expand the Hive” push to a level of darkness, foreboding and horror that Oblivion has only dabbled with in the past. The album closes with the black metal influenced “Negative Mass”, the sequel to “Multiverse” which closed their debut album “Called to Rise.”

Says O’Neill, “We hope you enjoy this album and see our vision. With the mountain of great music out there today we believe we are unique and deserve a listen. I believe this to be our best effort to date, we look forward to getting this release out and in the hands of our fans and future fans!”

I rated The Path Towards… very highly and regarded it as one of the best albums released that year. From what I have heard so far, this is even better! 2019 is going to get off to flying start with the release of their self titled third album for absolute sure!

It’s going to be an album of the year contender for absolute sure and I’m very much looking forward to hearing the complete album.

Quote from vocalist Nick Vasallo:
“As we were finishing the sequel to “The Path Towards…” we thought we were done writing, I thought I was done writing! Then we heard news of William Tolley from Internal Bleeding passing away on duty. They were one of the first slam bands I’ve ever heard, Ben gave me “Driven to Conquer” and it really influenced my early riffs. I bumped their tunes while at work, went home and wrote the song in one night. Sent it to the guys and they loved it. This is the tribute song to William Tolley and Internal Bleeding.” ~ Nick

Adam Grant Returns To Deadly Circus Fire

Adam Grant Returns To Deadly Circus Fire

In what was a highly unexpected, yet utterly magnificent piece of news. Adam Grant has returned to Deadly Circus Fire.

Deadly Circus Fire were a band firmly on the rise a few years ago. Major music festival appearances, tours, bigger labels were hovering and word of mouth was really spreading. Then it just all went wrong. Bad managerial appointments, bad luck, signing with a useless label, pretty much everything that could go wrong had and was. Adam was clearly burnt badly by it all and decided to leave the band.

For a time they continued as an instrumental project and fulfilled any bookings in that way. There’s more to the story but a lot of it wouldn’t be my place to say here. To be honest, I don’t know how they survived that era of the band. It was a dark time for them!

A new vocalist was found and movement towards album number two was well underway and even gone as far as a crowdfunding campaign launched along with an official music video. Then all went dark. The crowdfunding project was cancelled and nothing was made public about what had happened or where the band was going next.  The curse of Deadly Circus Fire was continuing… Maybe they shouldn’t have named themselves after an incident where 167 people died and more than 700 were injured!

Then it was announced that their replacement vocalist had left the band and Adam had returned. Which is great news as to me Deadly Circus Fire need his magnificent vocals. The last singer was alright, but he wasn’t Adam. His distinctive voice was and is now again a massive part of their sound. You don’t take the engine out of a Rolls Royce and replace it with a FIAT engine….

Time has passed, they have matured as people and musicians and there was always going to be unfinished business… If they gave it one more shot what would happen? Would they gain back their momentum and all those opportunities return. This time doing everything right with mistakes of the past learnt from?

Time shall tell in that regard but the original band are back. They released this statement!

Welcome back Adam!

‘Even it’s been a couple years since I departed from DCF, each of us have grown into healthier people both physically and mentally which is a vital thing for any venture to survive. I don’t speak for the guys but back then I wasn’t strong enough to carry on playing the music game in the state I was in and the state the industry was in. It just wasn’t working and I didn’t want to drag everything down to this lowest point I was at but after speaking to Save and the boys recently I noticed a big improvement in our quality of life. We grabbed a drink and hashed it all out one night and after finding out that David had parted ways with DCF I had to seriously consider the outcomes of a return. To wrap up the rant… I’m back and it feels good to be back!’

Organ Blender Release Debut Music Video ‘Between The Blades’ And Debut LP ‘Temple Of Human Destruction’

Galway based extreme Metal band ‘Organ Blender’ have released both their debut music video and LP.

The bands brainchild and founder Padraig Mckeown has been working away on this project for a while now. Two years since the first online demos appeared. Rather than rush this project it has been left to evolve and grow at its own pace. Now a three piece and getting ready to take it to the live circuit so a pursuit worth enduring!

For a debut release it is an extremely accomplished piece of work and a great starting point for the band to build upon. You can tell the man is heavily influenced by Devin Townsend’s Strapping Young Lad era but that’s always a good thing in my mind. There’s also many nods to classic death metal in there with some excellent guitar playing. His vocals are also extremely impressive. The man is a talent!

One to watch for absolute sure and I’m very much interested in checking this out in a live environment.

There’s a great band in waiting here so lets hope it goes well for them and the opportunities arise!

The album can be streamed in full here.

They also released their debut music video ‘Between The Blades’. D.I.Y here at its finest but for where they are as of now a perfectly acceptable video. It’s all about getting their name out and the more mediums they are on the better!

The song stands up so that’s all that counts really in their formative days!

Band Members

Drums: Jay Grimm (Jason Coniry)
Bass: Jason Kealy
