Black Tundra Release Second LP Daylight Dark

Black Tundra Release Second LP Daylight Dark

Polish doom/sludge metal act Black Tundra have released their second album Day light Dark.
In Ireland we have many Polish band members in Irish projects. Some made up of people from other nations entirely.
In this case a Polish band have an Irish member in Dave Killoran on guitar.
I could of course be mistaken, but I’ll go out on the limb and say this is the only Polish band that has an Irish member….

The album itself is excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. It combines all the best aspects of doom/sludge metal and does so in excellent style.

Lets hope Dave can get them over here for a few Irish dates. I’m sure the likes of Siege Of Limerick or Crypt Of The Riff Festival in particular would be happy to have them on the strength of this release.

Scáth Na Déithe Release New LP The Dirge of Endless Mourning

The stories of old Ireland have suffered throughout their long lives. Often misrepresented or misunderstood, the truth often lies not far beneath the murk that hides it.

“The Dirge of Endless Mourning” explores this relationship between the shallow, often twisted portrayal of Irish folklore and the true inspiration behind the tales through figures such as Biddy Early, a wise woman and healer, continually denounced and ostracized by the local clergy as an associate of evil. The forlorn and sorrowful Bean Sídhe, a cursed soul doomed to mourn eternally, widely regarded as a figured to be feared, not pitied. An Cailleach Béara, forgotten by time and people, a once great deity reduced to squalor and despair.

We live in the shadow of these tales, may they come tearing through the pages.

Scáth Na Déithe are, Cathal Hughes also of Aeternum Vale and Nautilus.
The man is a serious talent and has outdone himself here with this release. It’s an excellent black metal release and will be without doubt one of the best releases in this genre this year!

ANNIHILATOR Release New Lyric Video Dressed Up For Evil From Their Forthcoming LP Ballistic, Sadistic

Heavy metal/thrash metal legends ANNIHILATOR today debut the shredding new lyric video for “Dressed Up For Evil.” The latest single comes by way of the band’s seventeenth studio album, Ballistic, Sadistic, set for release January 24th via Silver Lining Music.

Issues founding guitarist, vocalist, producer, and principal songwriter Jeff Waters of the track, “Evil in the guise of a man; that’s how I would describe the theme in this one. People who have no good in them. Destroying all in their way with abuse, lies, and negativity. Generally, just being a nasty human being and ruining lives in the name of money; thinking that it makes them special. It just makes them evil and a waste of life. Musically-speaking, this one is as old-school ANNIHILATOR metal as it gets. It’s obvious that the vibe in this tune reminds us of the early days of the band; even extending back to the demo days from ’84-’88. A highlight for me in this song is the legendary voice of Raven’s John Gallagher on backing vocals with Durham’s Kat Shevil Gillham (Winds Of Genocide). An honor to have John on this record and his voice helps make this song a killer. Oh, and lots of shred guitar, as some have been demanding for a while! We hope you like this one… we do!”

Produced, engineered, and mixed by Waters, Ballistic, Sadistic was recorded at the brand new, state-of-the-art Watersound Studios UK in Durham earlier this year with additional engineering and editing by bassist Rich Hinks and mastering by Maor Appelbaum (Faith No More, Halford) at Maor Appelbaum Mastering in California.

Ballistic, Sadistic will be available in limited-edition digipak, vinyl, and digital formats. For preorders, go to THIS LOCATION.

A name needing no introduction in the metal world, ANNIHILATOR was forged in Canada in late 1984. Since then, the band has been touring and releasing records, selling millions of albums to date, nonstop, for over thirty years. Cited by bands like Megadeth, Pantera, Dream Theater, Children Of Bodom, Lamb Of God, Opeth, Trivium, and so many more as having influence on their music, Jeff Waters and ANNIHILATOR have continued to tour the world, year after year, whilst consistently putting out high-quality true-metal music. It takes time, patience, and perseverance to reach legendary status, and no one can dispute that ANNIHILATOR are inspirations, teachers, legends, and a force demonstrating what hard work and love of your craft can bring to the world.

zhOra Release New Single Coke Vulture Announce Mortals LP Details

zhOra have just released their lead single ‘Coke Vulture’ ahead of the release of their third album ‘Mortals’, which is set to be released via Hostile Media on March 27th.

They had this to say ahead of its release.

We all share a connection: Frustration at something that’s out of your control. Controlling you or someone you care about. Sometimes there’s not much more you can do, than just scream into the wind.

Know that you must always rage about these things. It is healthy and correct to do. It’s what makes you human.

It makes you Mortal.

Releasing 27.03.20 via Hostile Media

Pure Wrath Release New Single When A Great Man Dies From Forthcoming EP The Forlorn Soldier

Indonesian atmospheric/symphonic black metal unit PURE WRATH will unleash The Forlorn Soldier EP March 6th via Debemur Morti Productions. The poignant offering serves as the band’s Debemur Morti debut as well as a teaser to the project’s third full-length.

Forged in 2014 in West Java, PURE WRATH is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist Januaryo Hardy who presents here an emotive three-track, near-half-hour exploration of events behind a brutal incident during the ’60s genocide in Indonesia where male members of a family were kidnapped and “vanished” by a tyrannical army in the name of “so-called nationalism.”

Far darker and more immersive, expansive, and organic than previous works, The Forlorn Soldier — with its powerful, melodic cascades, impassioned vocals, skilled guest drum work by Yurii Kononov (ex-White Ward), and piano contributions by Dice Midyanti (Victorian) — journeys to an all-encompassing realm where mythic dreamscapes meet bloody thematic realism.

PURE WRATH‘s The Forlorn Soldier will be released worldwide on digipack MCD, 10″ MLP, special edition 10″ MLP, and digital formats. Find preordering options below.

North America:

The Forlorn Soldier Track Listing:
1. When A Great Man Dies
2. Children Of The Homeland
3. With Their Names Engraved

PURE WRATH initially began as a primitive black metal solo project before Hardy shifted focus a bit “to be more open and realistic to my real life and family history.” In early 2017, PURE WRATH‘s Ascetic Eventide was released via Indonesian label, Hitam Kelam Records. The record received an overwhelmingly positive response and sold out in just four months. Throats Productions in Mexico issued the record on vinyl later that year followed by a split release between PURE WRATH and French symphonic black metal project, Onirism, entitled Endless Journey. By 2018, Hardy unveiled his second full length, Sempiternal Wisdom, via a joint collaboration with Hitam Kelam and China’s Pest Productions. This year’s The Forlorn Soldier EP serves as a thematic bridge from Sempiternal Wisdom to PURE WRATH‘s as-yet-untitled third opus, to be released via Debemur Morti Productions.
