SEAS OF CONFLICT
RELEASE FIERY NEW SINGLE “PROMETHEUS” AS SEQUEL TO “EVENTIDE”

Seas Of Conflict have returned with their brand new single, ‘Prometheus‘, a sequel to their modern metalcore banger, ‘Eventide‘, which you can watch here. ‘Eventide’ demonstrated an ability to weave technicality with melody and ‘Prometheus’ hits back with a relentless explosion of groove, aggression and a fiery narrative with raw emotion.

‘Eventide’ and ‘Prometheus’ were recorded in August of 2018 immediately following the bands NZ support slot with Make Them Suffer and Silent Planet. The production team remained the same as 2017’s Vestige EP which was produced by Zorran Mendonsa (Antagonist AD, City Of Souls, and Skyharbor) and mastered by Ermin Hamidovic (PeripheryNorthlane) of Systemic Productions

“These songs are our proudest achievements to date” tells vocalist Kody NaidooThe music holds nothing back between the two songs, from their most melodic moment to their heaviest yet, this is Seas Of Conflict at their full potential. The two singles can be viewed as a conversation between two entities. ‘Eventide’ is an outcry of love, confessing vulnerability and affection, and ‘Prometheus’ “thunders into the dark depths of betrayal and hurt, using the story of the titular character from Greek Mythology as a metaphor,” explains Kody.

Visually, ‘Prometheus’ follows on from ‘Eventide’ with its beautifully dark content and evil undertones and was also created by notable Maori director Amber Beaton (BeastwarsJimmy UrineBulletbelt) and produced by Lisa Wolf. The band wanted to collaborate with someone with vivid creativity for this project so they approached Amber with the intention of presenting the two parts using her ominous, goth-inspired flair. The narrative features characters based on Scandinavian folklore with a dark twist, the narrative revolves around a young forest-dwelling outcast who tries to escape the curse of a Grimm. Interwoven with captivating performance shots, the videos were shot in a stunning arboretum in the band’s hometown of Hamilton, NZ, in the middle of autumn.

Formed in the wake of Hamilton’s rising tide of modern metal and hardcore, Seas Of Conflict started making waves in the New Zealand underground community in 2011; quickly proving that these impressionable, fresh minds were a creative force that commanded attention. Since then the band has gone from strength to strength, beginning their career with opening slots alongside bands like Thy Art Is MurderStray From The Path, and In Hearts Wake and working their way up to the release of their 2017 EP Vestige, which lit a fire in the band to pursue a sound that was resonating throughout the country. The band now anticipate their biggest year yet as they prepare to play support for Northlane on their only NZ show for 2019 in Auckland October 26 and just opened for Polaris‘ sold out show last weekend alongside Crooked Royals

‘Eventide’ pushed the band into a brand new realm and is available now! ‘Prometheus’ picks up where ‘Eventide’ left off and solidifies Seas Of Conflict as a band that can do both melodic and brutal. ‘Prometheus’ is out today and is available on all streaming platforms and digital stores at https://smarturl.it/seas-prometheus
