zhOra Release New Single Coke Vulture Announce Mortals LP Details

zhOra have just released their lead single ‘Coke Vulture’ ahead of the release of their third album ‘Mortals’, which is set to be released via Hostile Media on March 27th.

They had this to say ahead of its release.

We all share a connection: Frustration at something that’s out of your control. Controlling you or someone you care about. Sometimes there’s not much more you can do, than just scream into the wind.

Know that you must always rage about these things. It is healthy and correct to do. It’s what makes you human.

It makes you Mortal.

Releasing 27.03.20 via Hostile Media

Pure Wrath Release New Single When A Great Man Dies From Forthcoming EP The Forlorn Soldier

Indonesian atmospheric/symphonic black metal unit PURE WRATH will unleash The Forlorn Soldier EP March 6th via Debemur Morti Productions. The poignant offering serves as the band’s Debemur Morti debut as well as a teaser to the project’s third full-length.

Forged in 2014 in West Java, PURE WRATH is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist Januaryo Hardy who presents here an emotive three-track, near-half-hour exploration of events behind a brutal incident during the ’60s genocide in Indonesia where male members of a family were kidnapped and “vanished” by a tyrannical army in the name of “so-called nationalism.”

Far darker and more immersive, expansive, and organic than previous works, The Forlorn Soldier — with its powerful, melodic cascades, impassioned vocals, skilled guest drum work by Yurii Kononov (ex-White Ward), and piano contributions by Dice Midyanti (Victorian) — journeys to an all-encompassing realm where mythic dreamscapes meet bloody thematic realism.

PURE WRATH‘s The Forlorn Soldier will be released worldwide on digipack MCD, 10″ MLP, special edition 10″ MLP, and digital formats. Find preordering options below.

The Forlorn Soldier Track Listing:
1. When A Great Man Dies
2. Children Of The Homeland
3. With Their Names Engraved

PURE WRATH initially began as a primitive black metal solo project before Hardy shifted focus a bit “to be more open and realistic to my real life and family history.” In early 2017, PURE WRATH‘s Ascetic Eventide was released via Indonesian label, Hitam Kelam Records. The record received an overwhelmingly positive response and sold out in just four months. Throats Productions in Mexico issued the record on vinyl later that year followed by a split release between PURE WRATH and French symphonic black metal project, Onirism, entitled Endless Journey. By 2018, Hardy unveiled his second full length, Sempiternal Wisdom, via a joint collaboration with Hitam Kelam and China’s Pest Productions. This year’s The Forlorn Soldier EP serves as a thematic bridge from Sempiternal Wisdom to PURE WRATH‘s as-yet-untitled third opus, to be released via Debemur Morti Productions.

SVENGALI Announce LP Sayonara Release Video/Single Freight Train

Dubai-based multinational metal band SVENGALI have announced their stunning new album Sayonara, set for release on 20th March 2020.

To celebrate the announcement, they have released new single ‘Freight Train’. A crushing barrage of riffs with a powerful chorus, check it out here:

Featuring members from Iraq, Iran, Lebanon and India, the quartet bring together diverse and unique influences – both in music and in life – to create one of the most ferocious and emotively entrancing metal albums of 2020.

The band comment: “This album is a representation of the last five years of our lives – which spans from being homeless and living in a car in one of the most expensive cities in the world, to building our own studio and recording the album independently.
The first single ‘Freight Train’ talks about just that. Pushing forward, regardless of the struggle and coming out on top with those who stuck around.”

With one EP and one full-length under their belts, and having played countless shows in the Middle East, SVENGALI have grown into one of the hottest prospects from the region. Their debut album ‘Theory Of Mind’ reached number #2 in the UAE Virgin Megastore Charts and they are the only metal band who have been nominated in the huge Dubaian Ahlan Awards ‘Best Live Act’ category. Shows with the likes Sepultura, Jinjer, Kreator, Arch Enemy and Septic Flesh across Turkey, Greece, Lebanon, UAE and Dubai have proven that they can compete with the best in the business, and they’re now ready to take their sound to the global stage with new album Sayonara.

Featuring nine tracks of crushing riffs and headbanging grooves, Sayonara wastes no time in pummelling the listener, but it’s also not short on dynamism and melody. From the instant violence of opener ‘Alcatraz’ through to the heartfelt ‘Labyrinth’, SVENGALI’s wide range of influences are clearly apparent, but come together in a unified sound that is distinctly their own.

Inspired by a story of control with a sinister intent, their name SVENGALI is an indication of their lyrical topics of interest and they go deep on Sayonara. Exploring the state of mind during an addiction relapse, uniting and fighting against oppression, losing identity, overcoming obstacles and more, SVENGALI’s thoughts have huge relevance in today’s world, and their multinational Middle Eastern take makes it all the more fascinating.

Recorded and produced in-house, Sayonara paints a stark picture of SVENGALI’s journey and a band and individuals up until now, and promises to pave their way to becoming one of the most important global metal bands in 2020.

Architectural Genocide Set To Release Debut LP Cordyceptic Anthropomorph Via Comatose Music

From the infamous, incendiary killing fields of Texas, a state that seethes with the most brutal death metal on the planet, come Architectural Genocide with their bone-grinding debut album, Cordyceptic Anthropomorph. Eight songs of pitiless savagery delivered with enough power to blast you into pieces. This album is a vengeful, punishing assault upon the world, armed to the teeth with superior weaponry and devastating firepower. .

In 2018 Architectural Genocide released their one and only demo, featuring the sickening duo ‘Force Fed Fecal Matter’ and ‘Void Of Atrocity’ – a vicious one-two of brute force and evil intent. It was enough to persuade Comatose Music to invest in the band and the label’s faith is about to be repaid tenfold. In the months since that demo crawled from the Texas sewers, Architectural Genocide have tapped into previously unimagined reserves of pulverising violence and developed a simply shocking relentlessness and intensity of focus. Cordyceptic Anthropomorph is a blast beat driven war machine, fuelled by implacable fury. Exhilarating and terrifying in equal measure this is not a listening experience you will walk away from unscathed.

Mixed and mastered by Davide Billia (BeheadedAntropofagusHour Of Penance etc), upon its release on March 13th, Cordyceptic Anthropomorph will deliver a payload of nuclear proportions and send shock waves through a scene that might have thought itself immune to the effects of blistering brutality. Prepare for the ‘Abolishment Of Human Existence’ – Architectural Genocide is imminent!

GODTHRYMM: Release New Video ‘The Sea As My Grave’ UK Doom Metal Trio Featuring Former Members Of My Dying Bride And Anathema

“‘The Sea As My Grave’ paints a picture of a broken, tired human giving up their earthly remains to the sea for an eternal rest in the vastness of the oceans.” — GODTHRYMM

UK doom metal trio GODTHRYMM – featuring vocalist/guitarist Hamish Glencross (ex-My Dying Bride, Vallenfyre, Solstice), drummer Shaun Taylor-Steels (ex-My Dying Bride, Anathema), and bassist Bob Crolla – is pleased to unveil the official new video for “The Sea As My Grave.” The forlorn hymn comes off the band’s forthcoming debut, Reflections, set for release February 14th via Profound Lore.

The black and white clip features live footage from a GODTHRYMM performance in Belgium last summer and was pieced together by Carl Assault. Further elaborates Glencross of the track, “Crushing waves of titanic riffs and pounding drums, punctuated with ghostly leads and mournful vocals… lyrically, ‘The Sea As My Grave’ paints a picture of a broken, tired human giving up their earthly remains to the sea for an eternal rest in the vastness of the oceans. Musically, we believe this song perfectly defines us stylistically as a band and represents us perfectly as musicians.”

Stream previously released track “Among The Exalted” HERE.

Recorded and mixed by Nathan Bailey and featuring artwork and design by Brian D’Agosta of Gostworks Art (Vallenfyre, War//Plague), with ReflectionsGODTHRYMM has unleashed a mammoth slab of heavy, mournful, yet pounding traditional doom that harks back to the classic era of ’90s UK doom/Peaceville Records. A massive step up from their debut EP, Reflections is the result of Glencross taking GODTHRYMM into darker, more melancholic, and towering realms. Through Glencross’ soaring, passionate vocals complimenting his powerful riffs along with Taylor-Steels’ thunderous percussion giving the rhythm section that immense and glorious tone, Reflections is a testament to the glory days of the genre while simultaneously making its statement as a new force of modern day doom metal to behold.

GODTHRYMM‘s Reflections will be released on CD, 2xLP, and digital formats.

GODTHRYMM was forged in 2017 by Glencross and sees the respected UK metal luminary return to his doom metal roots, creating the music he was known to help forge with Solstice on the legendary New Dark Age album and especially with the heralded My Dying Bride from the 2000 – 2014 time period. Further adding to the band pedigree is drummer Shaun Taylor-Steels who, after some lineup refining following the band’s A Grand Reclamation debut EP, became the core of GODTHRYMM. In the months to follow, the pair recorded the colossal Reflections full-length. Upon its completion, Glencross and Taylor-Steels added bassist Bob Crolla to the fold making GODTHRYMM a true power trio of doom.
